How do I set up a call using the Toll-free Access Number from anywhere in North America?

Dial our toll free access number -- +1-800-757-1480 (USA Only), or +1-800-603-3218 (Canada and USA). If your caller id matches your account number you will be asked for a passcode. If we don't recognize the number you are calling from, you will be asked for an account number, and passcode. You are then prompted to enter the number you want to call, and the call is made. All entries must be finished with the pound (#) key.

How do I make a call using the Callback feature?

From anywhere in the world, dial our callback number +1-646-217-0570, just as you would make a call to the USA from your country. The call will not be answered, so there is no charge. Africalling will simply give you a busy signal. Hang up the phone. If your caller ID matches your account number, Africalling calls you back in a few seconds. Answer the phone and enter your numeric passcode when prompted. Then, enter the phone number you are trying to reach. Your call will then be connected. All entries must be finished with the pound (#) key.

How do I set up a call on the website?

Go to the Make a call page (which is also the first page you land on when you login). Enter the number where you are, and the number you want to call and press "Make Call". Africalling will call you, and automatically connect you to the number you want to call.

An optional five minute delay feature allows you to prepare for the call (e.g. disconnect from the internet if you are on dialup).

How do I get an account?

To set up an account with Africalling.com click the "Create Account" button on our homepage. On the sign-up form, you will be asked to enter the email address of the person who invited you and will act as your reference. That person must be a qualified user, and will be notified by email when you submit the sign-up form. Your reference must approve your sign-up before your account is activated.

Will I need any new equipment?

No. A call can be initiated through the web or through toll-free access numbers, and can be from to and from any telephone in the world.

How long does it take to activate my account?

As soon as your sign-up is approved by the person who invited you, your account will be activated and you will receive a confirmation message with your passcode via email.

How are my phone calls timed?

All call durations are measured in 30 second increments. Calls to Mexico are the only exception with all calls measured in 60 second increments.

How do I pay for and recharge my account?

We accept credit card payments (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express).

How much is an international call?

You can check our rates by entering two numbers on and selecting "Get Rate" on our homepage. You do not need an account to check our rates.

Why do some calling cards seem to offer lower rates? Calling cards often have gimmicks intended to make it very difficult for you to use all the minutes you pay for. Since the majority of users cannot use all the minutes they paid for, they can make their prices seem lower. But when you factor in the hidden charges, like connection fees, maintenance fees, card expirations, the true value of the card is lower. Up to 40% of the cost of a card can go to their hidden fees, they count on it. We have no hidden charges. Your account is always active and you have access to every cent. Your account never expires, You have no card to lose, no restrictions on time of day, or any other scheme designed.
What is a qualified user?

A qualified user is an existing customer who is trusted to invite new users or act as a reference for new users. Qualification is granted automatically based on a user's billing history.

How do I know if I am a qualified user?

If you are qualified, you can use the invitation form to send out invitations, and invited people can put your email address as reference in the signup form. If you are not qualified, both forms will give a message indicating that. For security reasons, we do not publish the specific criteria. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Do I have to invite through the invitation form?

No. You can use the invitation form to send out invitations, or simply tell your friends in any way you wish. As long as invited people put your email address as reference in the signup form, it will count as if they are invited by you, provided you are a qualified user.

What is "Transfer" or "Gift"?

The Africalling transfer or gift feature allows you to give credits from your account to another account. The recipient can be an existing Africalling account, or a new account you create for a friend. When you transfer to a new account, the new account is instantly activated and appears in your referral history. You can only do transfer if you are a qualified user.

My Country Code doesn't show up or is blocked

Although we try to offer service to everywhere in the world, we have been forced to block access to some country codes due to excessive fraudulent activity.
If you find you need to call a destination and we don't have rates listed, please contact us and we might be able to work something out.

Attempts to engage in fraudulent activity will be tracked! Prosecution to the full extent of law will follow.
